Lead Shielding

Lead is used in all structures that require a shielding effect to protect against gamma and X-rays (doors, walls, and ceilings). This is one of the applications in wich lead achieves the best value for money.

To be taken into account:

  1. Energy: power emission of X-ray unit.
  2. Workload: how many exposures to radiation are produced per week, month or year?
  3. Orientation: direction of the main objective of the radioactive beam, and the scattering of the X-ray unit.
  4. Distance between the screen and the source of radiation.
  5. Occupation of adjoining rooms
  6. Other materials used in the construction of the room.

(B) Por mutuo acuerdo entre el comprador y el proveedor, se pueden requerir análisis y limites establecidos para elementos y compuestos no especificados en la tabla 1.
